From Our Excutive Director Lisa Wolter Regarding the Komen Granting Process Decision
We want to take a moment to thank you for your patience. We appreciate the questions, concerns and the support we've received this week regarding the national office of Susan G. Komen for the Cure's decision to amend our granting criteria.
Today, the statement issued by our founder and CEO, Nancy Brinker, stated that the Komen organization has amended our grants criteria to make clear that "disqualifying investigations" must be criminal and conclusive in nature and not political.
Speaking for the Orange County Affiliate, we believe Susan G. Komen for the Cure now has a fair and appropriate granting criteria and we are very pleased that this allows Planned Parenthood to continue to be funded and be eligible for future funding opportunities.

Want to Become A Volunteer?
Our next volunteer training is on Wednesday January 25th from 5:30 - 7 p.m. here at our Costa Mesa office. The training is for new and returning volunteers. Please join us and hear more about the different volunteer opportunities available. All you have to do is RSVP to Cindy Brenneman at cbrenneman@komenoc.org .
Following this orientation, on Wednesday February 8th from 5:30 - 7 p.m. we will be conducting a speakers bureau training for those wanting to get to the next level of training and become part of our speakers bureau.
