CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS FOR RECEIVING PRESIDENTIAL VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARDS The Orange County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® recently became a Certifying Organization of the President’s Volunteer Service Awards. As a Certifying Organization, the Komen Orange County Affiliate was approved to review and verify volunteer hours, and nominate and distribute the President’s Volunteer Service Awards. The President’s Volunteer Service Awards identify individuals, families and groups that have demonstrated commitment to civic participation and inspired others to make volunteer service a central part of their lives. Honorees are determined by their number of hours of service in a 12-month period or cumulative hours earned over the course of a lifetime. Recipients of the award are presented with an official lapel pin, a personalized certificate of achievement and a congratulatory letter from the President of the United States. On April 13th, the Affiliate presented 27 outstanding individuals with Presidential Volunteer Service Awards in partnership with the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation.
